Police Investigation Yields 33 arrests in Gang Sweep

A yearlong police investigation targeting the Eastside Anaheim gang resulted in 33 arrests of various criminal activities including drug trafficking and possession of firearms. Anaheim has seen a rise in police shootings this year and attribute the violence to gang activity. The investigation, named Operation Halo consisted of more than 250 officers raiding over 50 locations in the Anaheim area. Local residents voiced fear as police barged into homes in the quiet neighborhood near the 91 freeway. A Dark Night for the Black Sabbath Motorcycle Club

The Black Sabbath Motorcycle Club President was killed in a drive by shooting late Friday night. Clyde Major Thompson Jr., also known as Wild Dogg, 51, was repairing a motorcycle at the club’s San Diego clubhouse, when he was gunned down. The shooter is described as a young black man wearing a black hooded jacket and black shirt. The motive is unclear. Police are searching for the suspect. Heroin use is on the rise in Ventura County, with a spike of cases found in Simi Valley. The prevalence of heroin addiction is often connected to prescription pain medications. Soon to be a former deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, 46 year old Kenneth Alexander just plead no contest to orally copulating an underage girl. A joint task force of federal, state and local law enforcement just executed a parole sweep called “Operation Guardian” in Los Angeles County. The task force arrested 70 parolees and seized drugs, guns and found a bleeding parolee who officers took to the hospital to be treated for his wounds. 42 people were arrested yesterday as federal agents executed warrants on members of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club in Indianapolis, Indiana. Seized along with the members were dozens of guns, cash and several motorcycles. The arrests came after a lengthy inditement was filed against members of the Outlaws. The indictment alleged activity such as drug trafficking, gambling, insurance fraud, money laundering, witness tampering and extortion. The California Senate just signed a bill that will restrict state law enforcement agents from detaining illegal immigrants unless the immigrant has a prior conviction for a serious or violent felony. George Zimmerman was just released after he posted a one million dollar bail bond. His release surprised me because that is a high bond amount.
