Yes, I know…We are all innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. But I couldn’t help myself, which is about the same thing Ryan McClain likely told police when he was arrested for indecent exposure in Long Beach, California. City police stepped up patrols in the area of Cherry Avenue and Third Street after receiving multiple complaints of a man masturbating outside an apartment house.
Subsequent investigation led to the suspects name and identifying information and ultimately gave rise (no pun intended) to an arrest warrant. McClain likely could not escape pursuing police officers as he had his pants around his ankles and his mind on other things. McClain is currently in Los Angeles County jail with bail set at $75,000.
If convicted, the suspect could face up to a year in jail for each incident and conviction would require lifetime registration as a sex offender.
Long Beach police are still investigating the allegations and are not sure why McClain picked one particular apartment building in front of which he is alleged to have perpetrated his hand to gland combat. Police officials indicate they believe there may be multiple victims of indecent exposure and ask anyone with information regarding the incidents to contact the station.
As for Mr. McClain, I could never counsel anyone to break the law, but maybe this story would have a “happier ending” if he found himself a local massage parlor that could fulfill his most urgent needs. Best of luck with that.
